TYLER JAMES (AID) Introduced in 2006. 8" flowers of red with yellow at the base of the petals. This strong, sturdy and compact bush grows to 3 1/2' making this an excellent garden variety with good color. Should do well in exhibition. Trial Garden Score: 86.3. Late bloomer. Should do well in exhibition.

Late bloomer, but worth the wait!

Tyler James is probably in my top two favorites. This guy grew up strong and big to about 5' tall from June through July but didn't start blooming until the end of August. But when it did it gave off extraordinary 8" blooms with a beautiful shape that you could stare at for hours! The only thing I didn't like was that since it bloomed late it seemed like it was just getting on a roll producing as killing frost set in here in Oregon (aprox. mid Oct. 2012). You might try starting in trays to achieve a longer production season?
