Mixed Dahlia Seed

I had a total tuber failure this past winter, so in addition to ordering tubers, I decided to grow dahlias from seed and chose this option from SI's packet. Even though the germination has only been about 50%, there are a lot more than 100 seeds in the packet to make up for that. I don't mind open-centered dahlias because bees LOVE them! And, I may be surprised by some other types that I will also enjoy for their beauty and sharing. Growing from seed is not as difficult as some people think, and it can be like Christmas presents in the garden to me to see what comes from those seeds come August and September. A GREAT VALUE!!!

This is my first year frowning flowers and I bought these because I didn’t want to invest in tubers. I head about 75% germination rate in the greenhouse! I loved the surprise of it and I had some BEAUTIFUL tricolored collarette and decorative types!
