Swan Island Dahlias is seeking talented floral designers to help create The Bloom Room, our immersive indoor floral installation experience held during the Annual Dahlia Festival. Working alongside a team of outstanding designers, you'll transform thousands of freshly harvested dahlias into breathtaking floral displays that inspire and delight visitors from around the world.

August & September Information:
Work Shifts are for Wednesday-Sunday. Employees must be available to work on Saturdays & Sundays. Shifts depend on the position but can be from 8 am to 6 pm. Occasionally, hours may change due to an event.
To Apply:

We will have a couple of REQUIRED orientation/training dates before the start date to review the position and responsibilities. If you are unable to attend one of these training dates, we will be unable to hire you for the position. We will ensure you are notified of the dates once you have been offered the position, as we try to work with everyone's schedules.
Positions Available:
THE MERCANTILE/Cut Flower Stand (18+ yrs. old) - Cashier, Restock, Customer Service
The Mercantile & Cut Flower Stand Sales Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting guests with purchases in both the Mercantile and Cut Flower Stand. This position requires working both indoors and outdoors, maintaining attractive sales areas, processing transactions, and creating a welcoming shopping experience. Employees in this role should be friendly, professional, knowledgeable about the farm, and able to thrive in a fast-paced festival environment.
Primary Goal: Deliver an exceptional shopping experience by providing outstanding customer service, accurately processing transactions, maintaining attractive sales areas, and representing the farm with professionalism and enthusiasm in both the Mercantile and Cut Flower Stand.

The Dahlia Sales & Customer Service Associate is responsible for assisting festival guests with purchasing dahlia tubers for spring shipment. This role combines customer service, sales, and order processing while helping guests select varieties and understand the ordering process. Employees in this position should be friendly, detail-oriented, comfortable using technology, and enthusiastic about gardening and flowers.
Primary Goal: Create a welcoming and informative shopping experience while accurately processing dahlia tuber orders and helping guests confidently purchase tubers for spring delivery.

The Special Class Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the successful setup, operation, and completion of all special classes and workshops.
Primary Goal: Provide seamless support to instructors and participants while ensuring each special class is professionally managed from setup through cleanup.

The Special Event Ticketing & Guest Experience Associate is responsible for promoting, selling, and validating tickets for special events while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring guests understand the event experience.
Primary Goal: Successfully manage ticket sales and guest entry while educating visitors about the unique special event experience and ensuring efficient, organized operations throughout the event.

The Indoor Floral Display Monitor & Guest Experience Attendant is responsible for protecting and preserving the integrity of floral displays while ensuring guests enjoy a positive, memorable experience. This role provides friendly oversight within the display area, encourages respectful guest behavior, and helps maintain the beauty and quality of the exhibit throughout operating hours.
Primary Goal: Ensure all guests can enjoy the beauty of the floral display while protecting the fresh flower arrangements and exhibit features from damage, removal, or misuse.

Trackless Train Conductor (21+ years old)
The Trackless Train Driver & Guest Services Assistant is responsible for safely transporting guests between designated parking areas and the farm while providing exceptional customer service. This position ensures the safe loading, transportation, and unloading of passengers, including guests requiring ADA accessibility accommodations. Employees in this role must demonstrate patience, professionalism, strong safety awareness, and knowledge of the farm and its attractions.

The Welcome & Parking Attendant is responsible for creating a positive first and last impression for every guest visiting the farm while helping maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of the property. This role directs vehicle traffic, assists guests with parking, performs grounds maintenance and cleanup duties, provides information about daily activities, and supports overall farm operations. Employees in this position must be energetic, friendly, assertive, and able to remain engaged and productive during both busy and slow periods. As highly visible members of the team, they play a key role in ensuring guests experience a welcoming, organized, and well-maintained environment from arrival to departure.
Primary Goal: Ensure guests receive a warm welcome, efficient parking assistance, and a positive final impression while supporting the overall cleanliness, organization, and success of daily farm operations.
