  • "I wanted to tell you how wonderfully your dahlias are performing in my garden, despite the fact that they have had less than perfect conditions! lovely in form, color, and stay-ability. Love it.
Stands out like no other!
Susan Rodesky (Courtice, ON) 10/5/2018 9:49 PM
To say that this colour pops in arrangements is an understatement. It screams for ATTENTION! No matter what other colours I use in arrangements, this dahlia makes itself the center of attention and never fails to get compliments. It brightens a room. Stem could be a little longer so I ended up pinching off side buds to strengthen the center bud but of course, got fewer blooms over all doing this. Still, this dahlia is quickly becoming one of my very favourites.
Great survivability

Mardi Gras was one of the first dahlias I ever got and has turned out to be one the most hardy verities I have. Some dahlias are diva's in the garden, but then can also be picky or sensitive during overwintering. I always dig my dahlias and i've tried lots of methods for storing them, but Mardi Gras is one that just couldn't care less what I do with it and is always sprouted and ready to go when I pull it out in early spring. Strong tubers, lots and lots of bright blazing flowers on a bushy, wide plant. There's real vitality in this line and when I go to plant the great great granddaughter tuber of the original one I started with: it's just as strong as the very 1st one I picked up.

Mardy Gras photo understates the 'electric' glow of this flower. Blooms profusely, tend to grow bushy – like a burning bush! Stems are long enough, but I would not considered long stemmed. These flowers are stunning.

Really nice two-toned blooms on long stems. Smallish flower fits well into any type arrangement.
