  • "I wanted to tell you how wonderfully your dahlias are performing in my garden, despite the fact that they have had less than perfect conditions! Mine was more salmon colored and was absoluetly gorgeous. It blended well with my other orange, red, yellow, salmon colors!
One of my Favorites

The coloring of this dahlia is so lovely. The blooms hold very well in arrangements and makes any arrangement better for being in it. Next year I plant to grow several plants of this stunner.
Gorgeous flower!
Jennifer Sheridan (Port Angeles, WA) 11/5/2017 12:44 PM
I planted late, June 3, in pots, in a spot with not a lot more than 6 hours of sunlight. Plant sprouted July 6 and first bloom Sept 30. An example of planting under less than ideal conditions. This wss tied as my favorite with Mikayla Miranda. The waterlily form was simply stunning. A single bloom took a couple weeks to fully open and lasted 2-3 weeks on the plant without petals on the underside drooping. I was amazed at how long it took to fully unfold. The red at the insertion point of the petal was very pronounced in my early blooms, and faded to the loveliest yellow and orange on the petal. It was fascinating to look at. As the weather cooled - daytime highs of mod to low 50's - the red was barely noticeable, and the flowers are now a more uniform soft orange without any yellow. I still have a 1/2 dozen blooms, today on Nov 5th. The frost has not gotten my dahlias yet.
my new favorite dahlia
Joan Stevens (Los Angeles, CA) 10/18/2017 3:36 PM
This plant is stunning. It was late to bloom but well worth the wait. Stems are strong and of decent length (only trouble is the other new blossoms on the same stem), the color is soft gorgeous tangerine crossed with salmony coral. It's really gorgeous. It's about a six footer in my zone 10 garden. Loaded with blossoms. Amazing cut flowers. I will always grow this one.
fantastic color
Debra McManus (North Smithfield, RI) 9/11/2014 8:16 PM
Nicholas is the loveliest shade of soft peachy orange I have ever seen! People actually gasp when they see it. This is my first year growing it and it has been a late bloomer, but worth the wait. Stems are short but very sturdy. I have had a bloom in a vase for 5 days with no sign of getting tired, in fact, the petals are unfolding beautifully! I will grow more next year.
