Photography Class

About the Class

We are thankful that you have chosen our farm to host your photography class/session this summer. As the expense of farming continues to rise, and to ensure the opportunity to use our beautiful backdrop for photographs, fees will apply for your reserved time slot.

We are open 5 days a week (Wednesday-Sunday), 9 am-5:30 pm in August and September, for viewing or using our fields for photography opportunities. We are closed Mondays & Tuesdays in August and September and are not open for reserved times. Our gates and fields are open during business hours and close promptly at closing. Remember, the best dates to photograph at our farm are mid-August through mid-September. If the pre-defined dates do not work for you, please contact us.

Single Photographer Session

$50/hour for a single session (ex., senior session, engagement, or family portraits) and $25 per additional family (max of 4 families per hour.) One bunch of dahlias will be included in the Single Photographer Session. (Please note your preferred color in the Extra Information box below. If left blank, the grower will choose.)

Photography Class

$150 per hour minimum (additional hours are $100/hour), up to 10 participants and personnel (including anyone onsite during the timeslot with your group,) including 1 instructor at no charge. Additional participants or personnel are $15/hour. This fee is to be paid 1 week before the photography session date by the photographer.

Session Request Form

Requested Sessions are not guaranteed until approved by Swan Island Dahlias. All confirmations or questions will be sent via the email address provided. Please allow up to 72 business hours for confirmation (i.e., scheduling and payment). The requested session timeframe is a 1-hour session; the expectation is that setup, photos, and takedown will be performed within the allotted time; please plan accordingly. If there is extreme weather, such as rain storms or extreme heat, you will have the opportunity to reschedule your session, or a full refund will be issued.
