How to Grow

Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Such a cheerful bloom and perfect peach color. As a new grower, I was pleased with how easy she was to grow. I live in the Detroit area and we had a very wet spring and hot summer. She still did great!

Love the dark purple stems

Peach Fuzz is one of my shorter and early blooming varieties (Zone 5b), with such lovely peach semi-cactus blooms. As an added benefit, this variety has dark purple stems. It is not one of my most prolific bloomers, but it is ok.

One of my favorites

Very reliable plant. I have grown this one for 3 seasons. Prolific bloomer, great cut flower, first to bloom in my garden and still going strong 3 months later. Goes well with many colors. I also notice more powder mildew with this one, but I live in the Pacific Northwest where our drizzly Septembers always seem to bring this on.

A whimsical joy in the garden

I am very impressed with the overall shape, size, stem, quality, and luxurious, soft color that peach fuzz produces. This is my first year with her, and she is in an ideal location with sun. I have had no issues with her whatsoever and no powdery mildew. This is a delightful addition to our garden and our flower arrangements. Very pleased.

This is perfect complimentary dahlia!

I love this dahlia more and more every day! This is my second year with it and it’s pumping out blossoms like there’s no tomorrow. Like the commenter above said, it’s beautiful both in vases with pink and purple flowers and in vases with red and orange flowers. It’s also very pretty on its own. It has a very nice sweet simplicity if you gather a nice bouquet of its own! I really wish I could add a photo to show how versatile it is. You really can’t go wrong with this one!

Ok, watch out for powdery mildew

Grown in full sun, zone 5 so short growing season. I grow several dozen plants of 8-10 varieties each year. I found blooms are 2" on 4' plant. Foliage was nice. However this is the only dahlia I ever had that got powdery mildew. I will not grow it again.

So productive!

This was the most productive dahlia I grew this year. It put out flower after flower. Very cute and works equally well with pink tones or red/yellow tones.
